Fall Color Festival

Annual mountain bike fundraiser held at the John Muir trails in Southeastern Wisconsin. Proceeds support trail maintenance and development.

Awards

Overall Finishers: The top 3 male and female finishers in the timed events earn a unique custom award on rustic basswood planks with natural bark live edges.

Age Groups: 1st place male and female finishers in their age group earns a custom die struck medallion with the FCF logo. Age Groups: 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18,19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Activities for Everyone

There is a children’s ride, face painting, tie-dyeing and other activities along
with a Parent / Child Tag-Team event.

Beer Garden, Food & Music

What's a festival without food? Coffee and bakery items will be available from Joy Ride Cafe. Primal Cue Restaurant and Catering will keep you fed. There will be a beer garden, Raised Grain & The Hive Taproom along with non-alcoholic beverages available to purchase. We will have plenty of FREE bottled water to keep you hydrated.

Merchandise

Limited edition T-Shirts, 16oz Beer Glass Cans, 16oz Pint Glasses (both glass and unbreakable food- grade silicone that is BPA-free), stickers and other gear.

Mechanical Support

Wheel and Sprocket will be there to assist you with any mechanical problems you might have. Look for their support tent near the parking lot at John Muir.

Medical Support

Wisconsin Bike Patrol will be at our event. Wisconsin Bike Patrol consists of dedicated volunteers partnering with land mangers, landowners, event promoters and emergency personnel to assist event participants in the case they need specialized EMS support.

Volunteers

The Fall Color Festival would not be possible without the help of dedicated volunteers. With that in mind, please consider volunteering. Your good deeds will be rewarded with a raffle ticket, t-shirt, and lunch. Please reach out to Ariel.

  • Parking–Help direct vehicles into parking spaces

  • Registration–Help get bike plate numbers to riders

  • Timing–Assist timing company at Start / Finish area

  • On Course–Guide riders onto correct loop

Note from the DNR – A Vehicle Admission Sticker and a State Trail Pass are required. If you have not purchased an Annual Vehicle Admission Sticker, a Special Event Parking pass will be available for $5.00 at the event. If you Volunteer, we will pay for a Special Event Parking pass, if needed.

Full Monty (31 Miles) Trail Map (PDF)
Prepare yourself for the ultimate challenge! This event is not for the faint of heart. You’ll conquer the Brown loop, the Blue lap, the connector trail, and the Green loop at Emma Carlin. By the end, you’ll feel like you’ve climbed Mt Everest, minus the sherpas.

Tour de Muir (18 Miles) Trail Map (PDF)
This EVENT will have you traversing 95% of All the Trails at the John Muir Trails in one Ride. Some Easy Trail, some HARD, some &%#@^, and Al Challenging - but FUN! This will be an EPIC RIDE!
You Will have the Thrill of Riding the John Muir Loops and discover why the Whole Trail System has become a Legend!

FCF Classic (13 Miles) Trail Map (PDF)
This event is a classic for a reason. One lap of the Brown loop and one lap of the Blue loop will have you questioning your life choices, but in a good way. It’s the perfect mix of challenge and fun, like a rollercoaster that you have to pedal yourself.

Short & Fast (5 Miles) Trail Map (PDF)
Don’t let the name fool you; this event is packed with excitement. One lap of the Brown loop and one lap of the White loop will leave you breathless and begging for more. It’s short, it’s fast, and it’s a whole lot of fun.

Beer Garden, Food + Music
What's a festival without food? There will be plenty of it, as well as a beer garden. Enjoy a cold beer or soda in a custom Fall Color Festival pint glass. We have a variety of beer, food & water to keep you fed and hydrated along with a DJ to keep you entertained.

Parent / Child Tag-Team Event (1.8 Miles)
This event is the perfect bonding experience. The child takes on one lap of the Brown loop, and then it’s the parent’s turn. It’s like a relay race, but with more dirt and fewer batons. Get ready to cheer each other on and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Children’s Ride
Our mountain bikers-in-training will love this free event. It’s a short loop designed to introduce kids to the basics of mountain biking. Think of it as a mini-adventure, with proud parents cheering on the next mountain biking champions!
