Fall Color Festival

Annual mountain bike fundraiser held at the John Muir trails in Southeastern Wisconsin. Proceeds support trail maintenance and development.

Awards

Overall Finishers: The top 3 male and female finishers in the 33, 22, 11 and 5 mile events earn a unique custom award. The Fall Color Festival logo is burned into wood planks with the bark on both sides. The planks are made from basswood, which is the best wood for successful wood burning.

Age Groups: 1st place male and female finishers in their age group earns a custom 2.25 inch die struck medallion with raised FCF logo. Age Groups: 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65+
5 Mile Event: 11-14 and everyone 10 and younger.

Activities for Everyone

Bring the entire family. There is an exciting children's ride and activity tent that includes face painting and other fun and creative activities. There is also a parent / child tag-team event.

Beer Garden and Food

What's a festival without food? Coffee and bakery items will be available from Joy Ride Cafe. Food Trucks and Avant Cycle Cafe will keep you fed. There will be a beer garden along with non-alcoholic beverages available to purchase. We will have plenty of FREE bottled water to keep you hydrated.

Merchandise

Limited edition T-Shirts, 16oz Beer Glass Cans, 16oz Pint Glasses (both glass and unbreakable food- grade silicone that is BPA-free), stickers and other gear.

Mechanical Support

Wheel and Sprocket will be there to assist you with any mechanical problems you might have. Look for their support tent near the parking lot at John Muir.

Medical Support

Wisconsin Bike Patrol will be at our event. Wisconsin Bike Patrol consists of dedicated volunteers partnering with land mangers, landowners, event promoters and emergency personnel to assist event participants in the case they need specialized EMS support.

Volunteers

The Fall Color Festival would not be possible without the help of dedicated volunteers. With that in mind, please consider volunteering. Your good deeds will be rewarded with a raffle ticket, t-shirt, and lunch.

  • Parking–Help direct vehicles into parking spaces

  • Registration–Help get bike plate numbers to riders

  • Timing–Assist timing company at Start / Finish area

  • On Course–Guide riders onto correct loop

  • Children’s Tent–Help with activities

Registration closes 30 minutes prior to each event. You can pay with cash, check or credit / debit card. Register Now and save!

Note from the DNR – A Vehicle Admission Sticker and a State Trail Pass are required. If you have not purchased an Annual Vehicle Admission Sticker, a Special Event Parking pass will be available for $5.00 at the event. If you Volunteer, we will pay for a Sepecial Event Parking pass, if needed.

33 Mile Event (~31.5 Miles) Trail Map (PDF)
1 lap of the brown loop, then Blue loop to connector trail, 1 lap of Green loop at Emma Carlin, then connector trail back to John Muir + remainder of Blue Loop to finish.

1 lap of the Brown loop and 2 laps of the Blue loop, not including the Gnome loop (down to Hwy H).

Beer Garden and Food: What's a festival without food? There will be plenty of it, as well as a beer garden. Enjoy a cold beer in a custom Fall Color Festival pint glass. We have a variety of beer, food and water to keep you fed and hydrated.

Parent / Child Tag-Team Event: 1 lap of the Brown Loop for the child and then 1 lap of the Brown Loop for the parent.

Children’s Ride: Lawn is mowed to create an easy, fun ride!
